At Helen's Hounds, we are dedicated to providing exceptional dog walking services and pet care. Our mission is to enhance the lives of dogs and their owners through enriching walks and experiences. Our walks aren't just walks they're adventures, a muddy dog is a happy dog but don't worry we clean them before dropping them back home!
About Helen's Hounds
Our Experience
I have been a veterinary nurse for over 15 years and have held many roles in the animal industry including teaching animal care. Helen's Hounds was perviously open in Newark and I have cared for many dogs and other animals over the years. All your furry, hairy, feathered or scaly pets will be well taken care of (no tarantulas though please!).
I have two dogs, Marshall 10 year old Whippet and Chilli 7 year old border collie who will sometimes be out on group walks. I also have 10 chickens in a very mixed group from Polish to Silkies and Brahmas plus lots of fish.
Our Philosophy
At Helen's Hounds, I believe that every dog deserves to live a happy and healthy life. I strive to provide a fun and safe environment for your pet, while also giving them the exercise and attention they need to thrive. I like to vary my walks as much as possible to make them enriching for the dogs in my care.
I will always put welfare first and mix dogs with others that they will enjoy spending time with, I also won't walk dogs if its too hot, no walk is worth your dog getting heat stroke for. Different breeds tolerate heat differently so whilst I might take some dogs out on a warm day I won't take others, but don't worry I will always make sure your dog gets some company and enrichment at home if they are booked in for a walk.

Price List
Group Walks
1 hour minimum walk with a suitable group of canine friends. Depending on other home locations and walk locations your dog may be out of the house for around 2 hours but the walk itself will always be a minimum of 1 hour. Your dog must have good recall for group walks as they are mostly off lead.

Individual Walks
A walk for just your dog(s) from the same household, great for more nervous, less social or reactive dogs. Unless walking from your home your dog will be out of the house for longer than the allocated time but the work will be a minimum of 30 mins or 1 hour depending on the booking.

Training whilst walking

If you would like your dog to have training whilst it is being walked, for loose lead walking or recall this can be done at an additional fee per walk of £5. Please note this can be done on individual walks only.
Secure field outings
POA
If your dog is reactive or doesn't have great recall but you would like it to be off lead then I can take them to a secure field, there is an additional fee for this as the secure field must be booked by the client. Information on request.
Pet Visits
Going away and need your cat, rabbit, chickens etc feeding and checking on or have a puppy or old dog that needs letting out for a wee and some company, then a pet visit is for you. Visits last 30 minutes and are tailored to your pet's needs.

Pet Transport
If you need your pet taking to the groomers, vets or day care I can transport them for you. Please note this is for the pet only not owners.

Wedding Pets
If you would like your dog to be a part of your big day they can be. I can bring your dog to whichever part(s) of the wedding you would like them and take them home afterwards.

Please note all standard charges are for Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, any requests out of these hours are charged at Weekend prices. For any other requirements please get in touch.
